Microliposuction
For patients who carry extra fullness under their chin (“double chin”), a minor procedure called submental microliposuction can be a great option. With one small poke hole at the chin, excess fat can be removed in the office under local anesthesia. This stubborn fat is permanently removed.

Patients with excess skin under their chin or neck in addition to the fullness or who have prominent muscle bands in their neck are better served with a more comprehensive approach to treating this area.

Cervical liposuction with or without platysmaplasty
For patients with more moderate heaviness of their neck and/or who have mild muscle banding, cervical liposuction with or without tightening of the muscle can be performed through a small incision under their chin under local anesthesia in the office to provide a more sculpted jawline and neck.
